Give your relationship a chance with our couple counselling sessions

Many Indians are scared and anxious when it comes to getting married and entering a committed relationship.

Of course, we know that the divorce rates have spiked in the last two decades and there are several reasons for this spike. More and More women are educated and financially self-sufficient. They don’t feel helpless anymore as victims of abuse. Men are also willing to get out of toxic marriages or incompatibility in their partnership and give their experience of relationship a second chance with different partners. Divorce is no more a taboo for the Genx, Xennials, and millennials. Some men and women enjoy the single status and are driven by other aspects of life other than the stereotypical societal expectation from an individual of marriage and childrearing. Individuals are motivated to follow their dreams, explore traveling, contribution to society, leading a purposeful and meaningful life.

Some individuals see marriage and committed relationships as a threat to their overall well-being. Maybe as a society, we have set wrong examples of suffering in silence and bitterness between partners, abuse, and violence from partners or their respective family members.

While it's not easy to deal with another individual on a regular basis, it only gets harder if the two individuals have expectations from each other because they are romantically involved.

Literature and fictional movies are so ingrained in us that we begin to expect each other to behave and act like the hero or heroine of the novel or the movie. Sometimes expecting partners to behave and act like our partners from previous relationships. In our minds, we have secret expectations from our partners which are unrealistic and unfair. How could we change this?

Insight and awareness of their expectations, how to communicate them, and how not to conclude with the behavior and action. Book our couple counselling session to seek interventions such as these.
